Vacation Caffeine 5% Serum

A water-based eye serum with 5% caffeine and EGCG (a green tea compound). The brand makes it to reduce the look of puffiness and dark circles around the eyes, and it adds niacinamide, panthenol and ceramide to the formula.

What's inside, and why

• Caffeine and Epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCG) are the two main ingredients. Both are commonly used in eye products for the look of puffiness and dark circles.
• Niacinamide, Panthenol and Ceramide NP support the skin barrier and help soothe.
• Hyaluronic Acid and Glycerin hydrate the delicate skin around the eyes.
• Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate and Tocopheryl Acetate are vitamin C and vitamin E derivatives with antioxidant and skin-conditioning roles.
• Centella Asiatica, Licorice (Glycyrrhiza Glabra) root and soybean extracts are plant extracts used for soothing and conditioning.
• Hydrolyzed Collagen is a conditioning ingredient that helps the skin feel smooth.

Good to know: the ingredient list shows no fragrance. It does contain DMDM Hydantoin, a preservative that releases small amounts of formaldehyde and can irritate or sensitize some people, along with Phenoxyethanol. It also contains a soy-derived extract.

How to use

Morning and/or evening, apply a few drops onto clean skin around the eyes and onto the eyelids. Massage gently. Follow with your favourite eye cream. For best results, cool the serum in the fridge before use.

Before you start

For external use only. Patch test before first use, and keep it out of the eyes themselves. If it gets in, rinse with water. Stop using it if you notice redness, burning or irritation.
